Prof.K.G.Samy was born as the eldest son to the couple’s Kanagasabai – Meenambal at Karaikkal in Kottucherry on May 25, 1937 (Monday). His original name was Narayanasamy and later his name was changed as Govindasamy on advice of someone during their visit to a temple near Ariyaloor. His kith and kin called him as Periyathambi and Periameesai (meaning - big mustache). read more
